Summary
On October 9, 1893 which was a monday, they had became a big success because many people attended which was a bit unexpected. It was estimated that about 300,000 had arrived at the fair at that point. A lot of things were cancelled in order to make sure that th fair would not have anything to stop it from succeeding. Many people enjoyed the Jackson Park which was near Holmes's hotel. In a day approximately 713,646 people entered Jackson Park. After Burham learned that millions of people attended the fair, he was full with felicity because the fair had exceed the Paris's expositon world record. The debts that were owed by the fair organizers were paid. October 30 was the last day of the fair, many people who participated on its construction felt that the fair was a great accomplishment and something that would be memorable. After the fair many people went back to being unemployed and the city went back to the way it was. Violence became something that was unavoidable. Holmes as well wanted to leave Chicago because many families were pressuring him. He burned the first floor of his hotel and the company paid him for the damages. One of the investigators from the company, Hiram S. Campbell became suspecious of the fire. Attorney chamberlain was the firtst to think of Holmes as a criminal and he trapped through his meetings. During the meeting Holmes fled because he was able to dazzle an attorney to tell him the other attorney's plans which was to arrest him. When the police catched Holmes for fraud, it led them to discover that Holmes mudered his assistant's children which led them to find out that he was a serial killer.

Reaction
I think detective Geyer's comment was absurd because what else would someone expect from a cheater, a killer, and a monster. No one would just confess their crimes when they know that there is a punishment that comes with it. If he wanted people to know about his wrongdoings, he would not hide the bodies. I think Holmes was a heartless monster. He had reasons to kill people but there were not justified. He killed people for money for example the kids he killed in order to get the insurance money.

The Devil in the White City (234-312)
Summary
Though Burnham and Davis distrusted each other but they still had to work together for the fair's goodness. Different type of people came to the fair because of its beauty. People came on foot, carriages and many other transportations to get to the fair. even duke of veragua attended, who was a descent of Christopher columbus. One of the most inspiring thing at the fair was Ferri wheel which met the goal of making the eiffel tower as not being the greatest marvel in the world. Holmes's hotel mainly attracted people because of his location. people went unnotice of Holmes's actions because he had a pharmacy and was a physician. the smell of chemicals was not unexpected to them. Later many quest disappear or checked out without paying their rent. though the fair was unfinish many people saw it as the most beautiful that has ever been done. After being a widow twice, Holmes got married again with a woman in her twenties.

Why did he change his name? After he changed his name, what did he hope would happen? Is it his reputation or his money taht covered his crime? because it seems that he is able to get everything he wanted. Was he lying or not? If he was why did he choose that name? Personally i think people knew what was going on because there was many clues. No one really knows when he really started killing and

In 1992, Chicago undergone a drastic change in temperature, the temperature went below 10 degree celsius. Many people had been killed that year. the estimated murdered was from 1,891 to 5,906. In the other hand Burnham and his team were facing many obstacles. they were short in money. He had to fire mamny people that he thought that were not doing their jobs. They confronted a lot of failures of plans especially his architects. Tension even increased between Davis and Burnham, they debated a lot for the position of chief of design. In spring 1892, Holmes's assistant seeked help to cure his alcohol problems. Holmes helped him look for the doctor to help him. His issue was an advantage for Holmes because everything was unflagrant to him. Pietezel did not not anything that was going on around him as Holmes's assistant which is why Holmes liked him. Soon Holmes's even opened his own place to help alcoholics. Holmes tricked her assistant's father ionto thinking that her daughter is alive. Though with all that was going on in Chicago, The city seemed to be doing well economically.
