Summary
Angela Vicario's wedding was extravagant. People partied all night and everyone who lived in the town expected a piece of cake. The wedding had one unexpected turn. Roman left Angela five hours after the wedding when found out that she was not pure. Her mother physically assaulted her because of the ignominy she brought to the family. She told her brothers that Santiago Nasar was the one who took her virginity. They both went near Santiago's house to assassinate him. They told as many people as they could about what they were going to do. they even told a police office and he did not believe them. he simply took their knives away from the. After that they took another knife from butchered house, which was where they slaughtered their pigs. Though people knew about the killing, none of the stopped it though each of them had a nuanced reason for not stopping it. many people thought that the twins were not capable of killing anyone especially Pablo. They were less fond of Pedro because he was in the military. Their assumption was true because primarily Pablo wanted to back up but could not because of Pedro. The twins terrorized Santiago until his intestine was out. Many of his organs were damaged due to the injuries and he died minutes after the stabbing. Finally Angela found her love who fled away from her, after writing many letters. many people were dubious of Angela's story.

Reaction
After she said that i began to question myself whether he did it or not. Even if he did it, i do not think he deserved to die because he did not coerce her to do it. I think what Angela's bothers did was absurd. God does not give anyone the right to someone just because they think they committed a crime which in this case was not. I think Santiago died because everyone in the town were self-centered and also underestimated human emotions. They thought that they knew the brothers well enough to determine that they can not kill someone. They were wrong, at the brothers proved them wrong. At the very least, his fiance could save him and she did not because she was thinking about her future instead of his life. As the narrator said, i think Angela said it was Santiago because he was rich and thought that her brothers would not attack him. How come when they asked her who did it again she could not say any name. I think she could say his name because she was remorseful about what she said about Santiago, which cost him his life.

The Chronicle of a Death Foretold( pg 1-45)
Summary
Before Santiago Nasar died, he dreamed about trees. Though his mother was a dream interpreter, she could not see his death coming. He tought that day was beautiful. He was all dressed up. People who described him, did so similar to his father. He was a very cautioous man especially when it came to the use of his gun. His mother thought that his dreams would bring him health but paid no attention to the trees which met the opposite. He had inherited many things from his arab father anfd his mother that served him. He relinguished his secondary studies due to his father's death which really affected the family. Victoria Guzman was one of the people who detested Santiago whereas her daughter feel the exact opposite feeling fo Santiago. Santiago was every women's dream man which seem,ed to be reasonable because of all he did. Everyone in town assumed that he knew that they were coming to kill him but in fact he did not. When he was going to the Bishop's arrival, everyone was suspectious because his killers were following him. People who found out that he did not know about the plot against him tried to warn him but were too late. Bayardo was the man that came to town, who every lady felt the urge of marrying him, but he chose Angela. Angela had her own dark secret. Though he had not been wed before, she was not a virgin which presented a challenge to her.

I think that no one was willing to step forward and told him because they knew what he did was wrong. They did not want to interfere and at the same time noe wanted to anyone die. I think the lady who cooked at his house did not warn him because he touched her daughter inapproprietely. This was enough for her to wish for his death. she was glad they killed him.

Summary
On October 9, 1893 which was a monday, they had became a big success because many people attended which was a bit unexpected. It was estimated that about 300,000 had arrived at the fair at that point. A lot of things were cancelled in order to make sure that th fair would not have anything to stop it from succeeding. Many people enjoyed the Jackson Park which was near Holmes's hotel. In a day approximately 713,646 people entered Jackson Park. After Burham learned that millions of people attended the fair, he was full with felicity because the fair had exceed the Paris's expositon world record. The debts that were owed by the fair organizers were paid. October 30 was the last day of the fair, many people who participated on its construction felt that the fair was a great accomplishment and something that would be memorable. After the fair many people went back to being unemployed and the city went back to the way it was. Violence became something that was unavoidable. Holmes as well wanted to leave Chicago because many families were pressuring him. He burned the first floor of his hotel and the company paid him for the damages. One of the investigators from the company, Hiram S. Campbell became suspecious of the fire. Attorney chamberlain was the firtst to think of Holmes as a criminal and he trapped through his meetings. During the meeting Holmes fled because he was able to dazzle an attorney to tell him the other attorney's plans which was to arrest him. When the police catched Holmes for fraud, it led them to discover that Holmes mudered his assistant's children which led them to find out that he was a serial killer.

I think detective Geyer's comment was absurd because what else would someone expect from a cheater, a killer, and a monster. No one would just confess their crimes when they know that there is a punishment that comes with it. If he wanted people to know about his wrongdoings, he would not hide the bodies. I think Holmes was a heartless monster. He had reasons to kill people but there were not justified. He killed people for money for example the kids he killed in order to get the insurance money.

Summary
Though Burnham and Davis distrusted each other but they still had to work together for the fair's goodness. Different type of people came to the fair because of its beauty. People came on foot, carriages and many other transportations to get to the fair. even duke of veragua attended, who was a descent of Christopher columbus. One of the most inspiring thing at the fair was Ferri wheel which met the goal of making the eiffel tower as not being the greatest marvel in the world. Holmes's hotel mainly attracted people because of his location. people went unnotice of Holmes's actions because he had a pharmacy and was a physician. the smell of chemicals was not unexpected to them. Later many quest disappear or checked out without paying their rent. though the fair was unfinish many people saw it as the most beautiful that has ever been done. After being a widow twice, Holmes got married again with a woman in her twenties.

In the other hand Burnham and his team were facing many obstacles. they were short in money. He had to fire mamny people that he thought that were not doing their jobs. They confronted a lot of failures of plans especially his architects. Tension even increased between Davis and Burnham, they debated a lot for the position of chief of design. In spring 1892, Holmes's assistant seeked help to cure his alcohol problems. Holmes helped him look for the doctor to help him. His issue was an advantage for Holmes because everything was unflagrant to him. Pietezel did not not anything that was going on around him as Holmes's assistant which is why Holmes liked him. Burnham met a with a lot of architects to build the fair. He had to work with a lot of people from different area to get the job done. Root was exhausted from all the work that was required to make the fair. Holmes contributed to the fair by offering his building to make an hotel. Holmes had his own plan which to burn down his hotel after the fair. He also intended to kill people in the building as well because if the fire would destroy evidence. Many people were suspecious of Holmes but had no evidence. The fact that he was charming scared people because so much hospitality made people wonder about his true characteristic. Holmes was an intelligent man and as the fair went on many people had died, men and women. Even though people were missing the police did not question Holmes because of how easy it was for people to disappear in Chicago. When Julia got pregnant, Holmes told her to get an abortion because it was an ignominy to have a child before marriage. When Julia went to have the abortion, Holmes killed her and her neighbors knew that something was wrong with her but had no clue.

The fair was glamourous and it occupied 200 building and there were all sorts of exibitions.Along with the glamour there was a lot of darkness. Many individuals had gone missing. A handsome doctor was to blame for their disappearances. Many of the fair founders disappeared mysteriously. Burnham learned that Millet's ship had an accident . people thought there were a lot of factors that could kill someone in chicago. The Exposition Universelle which was in paris imbued them to build the fair to show America's power. Many debates had happen in congress to decide the location the fair would take place and finally after a lot of hard work, Chicago got the fair. Burnham was born in September 4, 1846 and was not an excellent students but was good at drawing which helped him in the process of becoming an architect. Many materials were required to build the fair. A lot of money and the exact position had to be determined by Root and Burnham. Reaction to Review of Precious
Reaction to Review
I agree with the review by Patrick McCormick, she stated, "Black is beautiful. Black, obese, poor, functionally illiterate, abused, pregnant, despised, and drowning in an ocean of pain, 16-year-old Clarisse "Precious" Jones" (McCormick). This is exactly what the movie portrays but at the the same time it portrays a lost teenage girl. This is basically Precious's definition of black, it is not the director's definition. The movie is showing another side of what can be hiding from people. It also show that sometimes, someone can be living in a world without knowing what is happening in that world, since everyone has their own interpretation. It also teaches people that everyone is not the same, at the end of the movie Precious realizes that her definition of black people is not totally correct after she met Ms. rain.
Another thing that catched my attention about the review is the fact that she said, "
In the process of truly seeing Precious, Ms. Rain, Mrs. Weiss, and Nurse John recognize and draw out a beauty and humanity forced into hiding by the world's mockery, her father's incest, and her mother's brutal reign of terror. It is a miracle evoked only by those brave and loving enough to look" (McCormick). It was a great thin that was done by the director on showing that these people gave Precious a new meaning of life. A new meaning of not judging people based on her parents' cruelty.

I think the book is much more geraphic than the movie. One thing that the director did that i like was the fact that he never showed Precious's father's face. I did not get fact that there was not a lot of dolly shot. There was alot a lot of close ups, which gave the audiences a sensation of Precious's life. I think the movie was better because it gives people a sense of how Precious's life will be afterward. One thing i did not like about the movie was the end, the movie ended badly. It did not give people a clear view on how Precious's life is after she talked to her mother. It also did a poor job telling about the other characters which help understand Precious situation better. i think the director focused too much on Precious on the film. But overall i like the movie, at least it projected the theme of the movie which was furtive abuses in family.

For the first Precious goes to downtown and experiences a whole world outside of their homes. While she getgs with the group she realizes that she is not the only one that has problems. And no one can really avoid trouble, no matter how beautiful they are. Ms. Rain advises Precious to keep reading and writing. precious starts to write her own poem. each one of Precious's friend has a story that makes them to question their roles in the world. Precious also learns that her father started to sexually abuse her since she was a baby and her mother started abusing her as well because her father stopped giving her attention. Push (61-125)
Summary
Precious's teacher help her with her writting and she tells her to write everything that passes through her mind. She also tells her that she would write back to her. Regardless of what her dad did to her she still has the conscious of loving the baby, who is also her son. After years of belying her mother's true characteristics, she decides to tell her social worker the truth about her life. The effect of telling the truth is that she is kicked out of her mother's house and at the same time, welfare cut off her check. Her teacher finds her a place to live with her son while her daughter is send to special care. Now with her mother out of the picture, her life seems to be different in a good way. Her mother comes back i n the hope of getting her back to her house and tells her that her father dies of AIDS. After Precious learned of the news, her world come crashing down without acceleration. Precious steals her own file to what her social work writes about her. One thing she sees is that she underestimated her. She recommends that swhe does household jobs which is not part of Precious calendar.

I think her mother is a symbol of disaster because she always brings saddnes to precious. Eversince she was little she has been mistreating her. This quote also forshadows that precious will HIV positibe because her father had sexually abused her. I feel really bad for her because she did not look for the disease. And at the same just as she is starting to havfe a better view of life, things get worst.
Precious's teacher help her with her writting and she tells her to write everything that passes through her mind. She also tells her that she would write back to her. Regardless of what her dad did to her she still has the conscious of loving the baby, who is also her son. After years of belying her mother's true characteristics, she decides to tell her social worker the truth about her life. The effect of telling the truth is that she is kicked out of her mother's house and at the same time, welfare cut off her check. Her teacher finds her a place to live with her son while her daughter is send to special care. Now with her mother out of the picture, her life seems to be different in a good way. Her mother comes back i n the hope of getting her back to her house and tells her that her father dies of AIDS. After Precious learned of the news, her world come crashing down without acceleration. Precious steals her own file to what her social work writes about her. One thing she sees is that she underestimated her. She recommends that swhe does household jobs which is not part of Precious calendar.

Push (1-60)
Summary Precious Jones is a sixteen year old, who has abusive parents. Both of her parents has been assaulting her sexually since she was born. She weights two hundred pounds and had had her first child at the age of twelve. She was impregnated by her father. Her mother shows a lot of hatred toward her and accuses her of stealing her husband even though she knows that he rapes her. he mother forces her to eat and cook for her. At school she never writes or neither read. Her mother lives off welfare. Her mother tells hber that school will never do anything for her. Her mother loves her father too much to object him of abusing her daughter. Precious begans to see changes in her life after she has been kicked out of school for being pregnant. The principale of her school send her to an alternative school where she meets a teacher name Ms. Rain, who gives her a new view about herself. she is umbued by Ms. Rain because she has never been included at school and she makes them think that by fighting hard they can overcome their obstacle, which is no one in her class is literate because teachers had never paid any attention to them.

This quote portrait Precious as a low self-esteem individual. She has no hope of becoming something just because her mother says so. One thing i love about the book is the writting style, through the writting anyone can notice that Precious has difficulty with writting because it really flagrant. Another thing that is showned throughout the book is the power of words for example Precious's mother oppresses her with her words. She even controls her words. She even stops her from telling her baby daddy. This book shows how cruel a mother can be even to her own child. I think if that really happened in the real world that the child's parents would deserve the death penality as a punishment.
